Huawei launches latest AI-driven smart public safety solutions
Huawei launched its latest AI-driven smart public safety solutions at Milipol Qatar 2018. The company showcased its Software Defined Camera, which is the first AI camera in the CCTV Industry, able to provide on-demand real-time definitions according to the usage scenario. This allows for it to quickly adapt to the changes of multiple scenarios, where in the past a single camera did a single smart analysis, now a variety of different intelligent analysis functions are implemented at the same time in the same device.
Accelerating urbanization presents extensive challenges for cities in terms of infrastructure and safety. Authorities are increasingly relying on ICT to help protect the public. Huawei has partnered with global security specialists to provide comprehensive public safety solutions. These solutions provide convergent command and visualized dispatching to improve emergency response time. Cloud platforms and intelligent analytics combine to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement.
Huawei’s public safety solutions include the Video Cloud Policing Big Data Solution, an integrated AI analysis tool for public security customers. The solution enables intelligent crime investigation and prevention. It can analyze huge volumes of data to obtain valuable information on first time visitors, frequent access statistics, movement patterns and suspicious activity. It provides a holographic profile of key personnel, background information and activity track dynamics. On a wider scale, it supports cross-regional and global information sharing.
Charles Yang, President of Huawei Middle East, said, “AI is a powerful and versatile new tool with huge potential to drive the public safety sector. The technology can be applied to the protection of life and property, as well as to the promotion of modern governance. We are excited to launch our AI-driven public safety solutions here in Qatar, believing as we do that they will directly improve the quality of life of Qataris by creating a world with better city management, faster emergency response times, and more accurate identification and apprehension of criminals. We are proud to have been selected as Gold Sponsor of this important event, and we look forward to continuing to support the government of Qatar in building a safe and secure environment for their people.”
Huawei also presented new Ascend series of AI chips – the world’s first AI IP and chip series designed for a full range of scenarios. The portfolio also includes new products and cloud services that are built on Ascend chip capabilities. With its full-stack AI portfolio, Huawei aims to provide pervasive intelligence to help drive industry development and build a fully connected, intelligent world.
