ImageWare has announced a new multimodal authentication platform. In announcing the new ImageWare Digital Identity Platform, the company offered few specific details with respect to things like its supported biometric modalities and other authentication mechanisms, suggesting that all of this will become clear when the platform is debuted at next week’s RSA Conference in San Francisco.
But the company did describe the platform as “a seamlessly integrated suite of products that provides the broadest set of biometric authentication factors combined with the most robust identity proofing capabilities.”
Elaborating further, ImageWare CEO Jim Miller said that “the breadth of our Digital Identity Platform distinguishes us from basic two-factor authentication, biometrics, and digital proofing companies.” Miller added that the platform will be targeted at the enterprise sector and providers of IT services and managed security services “across a wide range of industries and vertical markets.”
At least one of those vertical markets is likely to be healthcare. There’s a growing demand for biometric solutions for a number of applications in this area, and ImageWare recently demonstrated its interest in this area with its partnership with secure medication bottle provider Gatekeeper in December.
